Welcome to the home of Pétanque at Brentwood
We normally play at the Tower Arms in South Weald, opposite the church. (Find us)
We are now back at the Towers !!!!!!!
Pétanque (often called Boules) is a game for nearly all ages and degrees of fitness. Many of you will have seen it played in one form or another in France or northern Spain when you were on holiday. It can be played purely as a social game or with varying degrees of competitiveness up to international standard. At the Towers Pétanque Club we have players who have represented England and won National competitions, but the majority play just for fun or, for those a little more competitive, in local leagues. (click here for more about the game)

New players are very welcome. We have a club night every Tuesday at 8:00pm and everyone joins in for a friendly evening. New players are matched up with more experienced members so that they rapidly pick up the game and have a little coaching at the same time. We play throughout the year, thanks to our floodlit pitches and the hardy nature of our members! However we do draw the line at heavy rain or thick snow. We can set you up with boules to start you off, and give you advice on what to buy, so don’t rush out and get equipment that may be unsuitable. (about joining our club)
We also host Social Evenings for clubs, groups or local companies can enjoy an evening with a bit of fun and a little tuition if required. Catering can be provided by the pub either in the form of a buffet or a full sit down meal. ( details and bookings)
